Charrell has taken care of the complete refurnishing of a beautiful historic apartment in the middle of Mechelen. The result is warm and atmospheric, in a natural, rural style. For the owner, the project is already a 100% success: "I finally feel at home here."
Natural, with a twist
In order not to compete with the rich elements that were already present in the apartment (oak parquet and wood panelling, marble), Charrell chose elm as the predominant wood type for the furniture. Two "Le Baron" cabinets immediately catch the eye when you enter the dining room. They are showpieces in a stunning décor where everything is aligned, from the white linen curtains to the velvet upholstered chairs. The choice to combine different tones of the same colour provides a natural whole, with some notable exceptions such as the two blue bergère armchairs, whose colour can also be seen in the decorative elements.
